ABOUT US
The Association Partners in Development Romania is a Romanian juridical person regulated by the Private Law, with no patrimonial purpose, non-philanthropical, democratic, unconditioned politically or religiously, that will perform information and sensibilization activities in the interest of the citizen/community, according to the Romanian laws.
APDR was founded on May the 16th 2001 and became a juridical person in October the 11th 2001(HJ 330/PJ/2001).
THE GOAL
The goal of this association is to promote and facilitate social dialogue in parallel with improving the level of citizen participation in the community life.
DOMAINS OF ACTIVITY
The areas where APDR will act are:
Civic education, children and youth's rights, fighting against discrimination, mass media, promoting and insuring the implementation of the specific legislation, women's rights, citizen's participation in the local democratic system, raising awareness about the EU integration, improving the quality of life.
The Congress of APDR can approve actions/programmes in other areas of activity.
OBJECTIVES
A fundamental goal of our association is to revigor the community spirit by encouraging the active involvement/participation, particularly of the youth.
Other objectives are:
Drafting and implementing information/sensibilisation/ raising awareness campaigns without becoming politically partisan; evaluating/ disseminating/ monitoring the results of the campaigns.
Developing resource/information/training centers;
Developing programmes/activities for the protection and empowerment of marginalized groups;
Creating partnerships with the local/central administration, with other governmental or non-governmental organizations, Romanian or foreign, or with SME's.
Influencing the legislative framework/ lobbying for the implementing the concept of equal chances;
The development of the organization; fund-raising for sustaining our activities.
ORGANIZATION
The Directory Council consists of 7 members, as it follows: a president, a vice-president, a financial coordinator, a secretary, a project coordinator, an image/promotion coordinator (PR) and an administrator.
