POSITIVE - we think the way we are
The UNOPA redaction committee thanks all its members, collaborators that sent articles, all volunteers that offered their support, and everybody else that contributed to the editing of the first magazine of the people living with HIV/AIDS in Romania.
Our thanks are also equally addressed to International Harm Reduction Development (IHRD) and to the Center for Policies and Health Services (CPSS), for their financial support.
We think it would be interesting for our readers to present the evolution/making of this magazine. Initially the project was drafted for the elaboration of a "discussion guide" regarding the right of people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS to adequate social protection. In January 2002 we started to implement the project and by DISCUSSING and DISCUSSING… we decided on a magazine. A different type of publication, a different conception… But we considered the idea and we discovered there is a need for a magazine of the people living with HIV/AIDS, a magazine through which we can get to know each-other better, communicate better, express our-selves better, inform, learn to live and think positively, simply be TOGETHER. Because only TOGETHER we can find an efficient answer to this challenge, in medical terms called HIV/AIDS, but which means for us PAIN/ HIDDEN TEARS. This answer will surely come as long as we will live and act positively!
We hope this pilot-issue will become a regular magazine, with more and more interesting subjects/stories that help improve the situation of the people living with HIV/AIDS!
"POSITIVE magazine-we think the way we are" is distributed for free and can be obtained by contacting UNOPA headquarters.
